Brief History of the School

The Linao Elementary School is considered as one of the oldest primary learning institutions in western Aparri which is located at Linao, Aparri, Cagayan, 3515 Cagayan and is strategically situated near the famous longest river in Asia which is Cagayan River. In the north, the vast Babuyan Channel facing the school. Tracing back its existence, the school was established in early 1930s. It is situated in an area covering at least eighty-one thousand nine hundred thirteen square meters (81,913 sq. m.). As per document present, the school owned at least eight hundred fifty square meters (850 sq. m.) found at the western part of the said parcel of land bought in April 1993. The proof of school lot ownership is a very old Deed of Sale executed by and between the Barangay Council headed by Barangay Captain Florentino E. Adap and Mr. Esteban A. Blanco, the owner. Some famous Aparrianos who hold high ranking positions in the government nowadays were reared and polished in this institution as far as early education is concerned. Previous records show, in terms of enrolment, it has more than two hundred (200+) pupils until such time that it went down because of the transfer of residence of some pupils due to seeking of livelihood of their parents. But there are still enrollees coming form this barangay that composed at least two percent of the total learner’s population due to continuous growing of population of the barangay. At present, the school has a total population of two hundred twenty-one (221) pupils.
