APARRI, Cagayan- The Maura Elementary School teaching Staff headed by the School Principal,Virginia T. Alias have expressed their gratitude to the never-ending support of their stakeholders and benefactors after receiving the award for being the Regional Sustainable BE Champion during the virtual conferment by the Department of Education Regional office on May 03, 2021.

According to Alias, the award had been unexpected since they were only informed to join the search recently.

“The award had been unexpected since we were informed to join Brigada search just recently. What made us win was really the incessant support we got from our stakeholders and benefactors, and of course, to my teachers who did their part to complete all the requirements needed in the search”, Alias exclaimed.

Maura E/S also won the Division Sustainable BE Champion School during the Division Brigada Eskwela Awarding Ceremony on April 26, 2021 which made the school the sole entry of the Division to the Regional level of competition.

It can also be remembered that Maura E/S has been a Hall of Fame awardee during the 2019 BE National Awarding held at the Philippines International Convention Center, Pasay City on November 28, 2019.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide initiative by the Department of Education(DepEd) that mobilizes thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, government and non-government organizations and other stakeholders to share time, effort and resources before the opening of classes.

According to Alfredo T. Garcia, BE School Coordinator, Brigada Eskwela brought together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources prior to the opening of classes in the New Normal, despite the pandemic situation.

“The spirit of volunteerism in Maura E/S until now is heartfelt and corroboratory. These attributes of the stakeholders have greatly contributed to the school’s victory in the field of Brigada Eskwela”, Garcia added.
