Child Protection Policy
The 1987Philippine Constitution states that it shall defined the rights of children in all forms of deprivation and violations. The children are prevented from experiencing neglect, cruelty, violence, exploitation, discrimination, bullying and other forms of abuse which greatly impede their development. In addition to this, the Constitution requires that academic institutions (both public and private shall imbibe the values of patriotism, nationalism as well as love of humanity.
As stated, the Department of education , in collaboration with its partners and stakeholders, shall ensure that all schools are conducive to the education of children. The best of the child shall be paramount consideration in all decisions involving children, furthermore, teachers and learning facilitators are the substitutes parents and are expected to discharge their function with outmost professionalism and integrity. In connection to this, the Family Code empowers the school, its administration and teachers, to exercise the special parental authority and responsibility over the child while under supervision, instruction or custody (DepED Order No. 40 s. 2012).
