A joint resolution was made by Ms. Julia J. Sambu together with the barangay officials headed by Barangay Captain Marlon B. Guzman requesting the Office of the Congressman Hon. Randoph S. Ting to grant One classroom building due to the increasing population of the school. The resolution was approved and a result a modified classroom building was constructed in school year 2014-2015. The classroom building was funded through the Countrywide Development Fund (CDF) or Pork Barrel of Congressman Randolph S. Ting. It serves as the computer room, where the Seven units of computers are installed intended for ICT and for teaching-learning purposes. This accomplishment was done during the leadership of Mrs. Rosalina S. Menendez who came in as Principal in 2010. Major repairs of the three classrooms building-BSLB type II, PTA-LGU Building 1 and 2 were done due to typhoons and termites.
In 2016, during the leadership of Mr. Danilo M. Mabborang, the Bagong Lipunan School building Type II was destroyed and heavily damaged by Super Typhoon Lawin. The roof of school mini-gym as well as the roof of PTA-LGU building were blown away. Major repairs of the BLSB was funded by the Department of Education. Other physical structures that were destroyed and repaired was funded through school MOOE, donations. Unfortunately, after two days of using the newly repaired classroom, they were again destroyed by another super Typhoon Ompong in 2018. Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) were provided for the school children in the lower grades. Save the School Children Foundation, a private international organization also donated a temporary learning space which was used by the Grade III class while waiting for the two buildings to finish its construction.
On September 9, 2019, demolition of the BLSB Type II started and two-school buildings, Bldg 1 and 2 were constructed which were funded by DepEd through Engr. Armando C. Soriano Jr., DepEd Engineer of the division. Building No.1 consists of three classrooms and building No. 2 consists of two classroom-a total of five classrooms. The classroom building has a built-in comfort rooms, water system, washing area, wall fan, two electric bells for emergency purposes and complete lighting facility. It also has three washing facility with roof which were constructed besides the wall of the building. The newly constructed building is a two- door type and a typhoon resilient school building that can withstand the impact of a super typhoon. The demolished BLSP is considered the oldest classroom type building.
The construction of the new building is still taking place. Many facilities are added, improved and renovated. The school is indeed fortunate that there are outside sponsors who are willingly donated and had helped the school further improve for the sake of our stakeholders. It is always an opportunity to sustain both academics, physical and learners’ welfare that provides stakeholders an avenue of positive environment conducive for learning.
At present, the school has a population of more or less two hundred thirty-nine pupils. It is headed by Mr. Danilo M. Mabborang, the current school head with nine teachers. There are eight classes. It uses Ilokano as Mother Tongue. The school lot has a total land area of 6,656.05 square meters and it is the name of the school.
The Barangay Officials as well as parents are very supportive to the plans, programs and projects of the school. There’s a need to strengthen this relationship so that the school will continuously achieve excellence and credibility. All of these and more as Monte Alegre Elementary School continues to soar high today and beyond.
