The History of Iringan Elementary School
Barangay Iringan was first occupied by negritoes, these people were not friendly to the Christians because they are fierce and warrior people. World war two came and barangay Iringan was made as Garrizons of the Japanese Imperials so the aetas more driven away to other mountains. Ilocanos and ibanags came to the place where majority were Ilocanos.
So manay Iringenos were interested to their education that they sacrifice to go to town of Allacapan in order to obtain their Education.Since there were no available vehicles then so they reached the place by walking other ride in carabaos. School children stayed in their KASERAS during the weekdays manage to cook for their food andmarked their own clothes. At week ends they will go home to their barangay in the same way. Others not endure their hardship in reaching the place especially during rainy season so they gave up their studies and turned to be farmers girls became maids to others places, some preferred to have an early marriage.
Iringan primary school was established in the year 1965, the school is situated at the eastern part of the Maharlika Highway and about 1.5km away from it. The School site was surrounded by virgin forest and far away from houses was erected on top of a hill and the lot was donated by a generous and prominent person and the present Tenyente del Baryo Mr. Gregorio Agluba.
Teachers managing the school came from different places some of them are of them are from Sanchez Mira Cagayan others are from Ballesteros Cagayan. Several years passed there were already some affiliated teachers in the barangay Mrs. Evangeline Ursua and Mrs. Fe Agluba who were the two combination teachers and the transcients teachers went home to their respective town.
Year 1986 it was the insurgency times, teachers and pupils were forced to moved to the Barangay Gymnasium, since the school was already the rendezvous of the subversive people.
The gymnasium was divided into several improvise rooms using plywoods, bamboos, Sawali and others junt to made the place conducive for learning to the pupils. It was the year 1989 when another generous person donated his lot in a condition that his lot will be swapped by the old site of the school. The new site of the school is now very near to the Maharlika highway and surrounded with many houses. The school has a 5,160sq.meters having 4 classrooms. The construction of new buildings to the new site of the school were also the time for school to be a complete from Iringan Primary School to Iringan Elementary School in the year 1990. And this motivates also some pupils to enroll in our own Elementary School rather than enrolling to nearby schools like Maluyo E/S and at the Central School.
Enrolment get bigger so the four year classroom was not enough. In the joint effort of the Barangay Captain Gorgorio Agluba and his Barangay Councilor and PTA officials with president Mr. Henry Fronda together with the first school head Mr. Arnolfo D. Espanyol, the three classroom from the old site was transferred to the new site. That time all the teachers are from barangay Iringan they are as follows: Mrs Fe Agluba grade I teacher, Mrs. Lolita Correa grade II teacher, Mrs Erlinda A. Pascual Grade III teacher, Mrs. Josefina C. Zambra grade 4 teacher,Mr. Eddie Fuertes, grade V teacher, and Mrs Emiteria G. Colega grade VI teacher with Mr. Arnulfo D. Espanyol the Teacher-In charge.
The completion of Iringan Elementary School was a great help to our pupils because this Institution shapes the innocent mind of the school pupil to grow as productive citizen of the community.
