PUSSIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: “ A great place to nurture a better future”
HISTORY OF PUSSIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Witnessing the scenario of seeing school-aged children and considering the time and distance travelled by children of people living in barangay Pussian going to barangay Agani to pursue their elementary education at Agani-Pussian Elementary School every day enkindled the minds of the barangay council to conceive the creation of its own school for its young constituents.
Not counting more long years to passed-by, Pussian Primary School was created through the sponsorship of OPLAN KATATAGAN on July, 1983.
A total land area of 6,332 m2 was donated by Mr. Rafael Garma. A PTCA School Building made of cogon and bamboo was created on July, 1983 with Miss Juliet Cabaruan the pioneer teacher under the administration of Mrs. Nerina Padilla, School District Supervisor.
Pussian Primary School molded young minds under a makeshift structure of cogon and bamboo from 1983 to 1991.
In S.Y. 1987- 1988, three (3) classroom Bagong Lipunan School Building were constructed to replace the PTCA Building.
With continuous prayers and coordination to higher authorities, in S.Y 1992-1993, Pussian Primary School was converted into an Elementary School with three teachers Mrs. Precita Bragado (Grade I and Grade II class), Mrs Palmira Bragado (Grade III and Grade IV) and Mr. Segundo Bragado (Grade V and Grade VI) under the administration of Dr. Salvacion S. Catral, Schools District Supervisor and Saturnino Cinco, Barangay Captain.
A temporary H.E Building, 100 pcs. desks, 3 teacher’s tables and 3 blackboards were constructed.
In S.Y 1996- 1997 another school building was constructed, and other physical improvement were done up to present.
With the flaring interest to give better instruction and more conducive place to learn , the school authorities with its stakeholders didn’t stop on coordinating with one another.
Hence, the school has already complete classrooms for Kinder to Grade 6. Among these classrooms, 2 are sponsored by PTA and recently, 1 sponsored by the LGU.
And by now, school has now 8 teaching staff and it is headed by a Teacher-In-Charge.
