In 1948, Bagu Primary School was founded. The school was made out of nipa shingles, coconut timber and bamboo. It was situated opposite of barangay hall of Bagu, Abulug Cagayan along Rizal Street with land area of 4,093 square meters which was orally donated by the generous donor Vicente Bablis.
Among the first teachers of this school were Bartola Bablis, Ofelia Fernandez, Constancia Marantan, Nelie Tadena and Cornelio Tadena.
During the school year 1994-1995 ,the school produced its pioneer batch of graduates and changes its name from Bagu Primary School to Bagu Elementary School under the leadership of Mr. Cornelio O. Tadena.
Over the past years, Bagu Elementary School has successfully guided and molded young minds of its barangay and some from the neighboring town of Ballesteros and produced numerous successful professionals. As years gone by several improvements have been made in the school buildings and infrastructures financed by the government and some private companies and individuals.
The people behind Bagu Elementary School as an educational institution will never sit on their glory but will continue to provide educational services to the fast growing communities and will strive unceasingly to innovate, create new ideas, concepts and practices for better quality education for the youth.
