Meet the Teachers

Hi! My name is Ms. Ecton, and this will be my 9th year in education. I’m originally from Chicago, IL, and recently moved to Denver, CO. I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining the DGS community! In my classroom, I prioritize building a strong sense of belonging where every learner feels safe, supported, encouraged, and joyful. I believe in nurturing the whole child (academically, socially, and emotionally) so that each student can thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Hi families! I started teaching at DGS in 2023 and I have loved being a part of this special community. I studied psychology at UNC Chapel Hill for undergrad and stayed to get my Master’s in Elementary Education. I have wanted to be a teacher all of my life. I absolutely love spending time growing and learning alonside my students. I am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing group of students, families, and teachers! I cannot wait to meet each of your students! I strive to instill confidence, curiosity, and creativity within our second grade community.
