Julia Bent (she/her) 6th grade Science

Julia_bent@denvergreenschool.org

I am thrilled to be teaching Science this school year! This is my first year at DGS and I am honored to be a part of this community. I am originally from Louisiana but have lived in Denver for 7 years. I look forward to learning more about the DGS community and to show students that everyone is a scientist.

Samuel Liddell (He/Him) 6th Grade math

samuel_liddell@denvergreenschool.org

Hi! I'm super excited to join DGS this year and teach math with all of you! I grew up in this neighborhood and it's great to be back. This year we'll learn about how math intersects with all of our lives and build confidence with concepts old and new. Together, we'll cultivate a positive mindset for learning interesting new things and persevering over obstacles.

Outside of the classroom I like playing games, drinking coffee, watching movies, and entertaining my dog, Fuj. I'm also passionate about our city and enjoy exploring what Denver has to offer!

Bryn Harley (she/her) 6th GRADE LITERACY

bryn_harley@denvergreenschool.org

Hey! This is my second year at DGS and I am excited to keep learning and growing with all of my students. I spent my childhood in London, England until moving to Long Island, New York to finish my middle and high school education. I moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado-Boulder for my undergraduate degree, and stayed to get my masters at the University of Denver. Outside of work, I love to travel, try new foods, and exercise. I value the community and collaboration at DGS and look forward to building a further support system for my students with all of you. Please never hesitate to reach out!

anna KRAH (she/her) Special Education Teacher

anna_krah@denvergreenschool.org

Hi there! I am so excited to join the DGS community this year! I support students with disabilities in grades 6-8 and collaborate with our teachers to make curriculum and instruction accessible and engaging for all learners.

I just moved to Denver from Boston this summer and have been teaching special education in the Boston area for the past four years. I can't wait to meet our wonderful DGS students and families! Please email me if you have any questions.

Maggie Sgier (she/Her) English LAnguage Support

maggie_sgier@denvergreenschool.org

Supporting students as they acquire English is my passion and I'm so excited to do that with our emerging bilingual students in 6th grade!  I’ve taught English in Japan, Mexico, and throughout Colorado.  I speak Spanish and I know little German and Japanese.  I love learning languages and connecting with people from around the world, so DGS is a great place for me to be.   When I'm not at work, I'm usually chasing around my daughter.  She turned one last May and is a such a delight to be around.  Watching her develop her language skills has been one of the most fascinating things for me as a parent.  In the free time I have left, I enjoy gardening, snowboarding, yoga, and cooking delicious food.   If you have any great recipes, please send them my way!

Christina Johnson (she/Her) Math Interventionist

christina_johnson@denvergreenschool.org

I am so lucky to be a part of the sixth grade team! In my role, I pull students to help support them as they explore mathematics in a smaller/more individualized, targeted group setting. I love seeing our shared students grow confidence in their math! I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BA in K-6 Education and an Endorsement in Middle School. More recently, I received my Masters in Educational Policy at CU Boulder. When I am not at school I love exploring outdoors, playing sports or trying out new restaurants. Can't wait for a great year :)
