We understand that you might have questions about what you’re experiencing after surgery. Discomfort is common during the healing process. However, we want you to know when something is wrong and you should be calling the office. Call 911 for life threatening emergencies.
Call the office if you are experiencing:
Profuse bleeding
Increased pain, swelling, or numbness after the initial day of surgery
Loose or dislodged sutures
Hives, skin rash, itching
Increased heart rate
Nausea/vomiting
Feverish (over 100° after day 3)
Dizziness/fainting
Blurred vision
Bone spurs
After final delivery of your permanent smile, the general schedule requires a 4 month office visit for cleaning, exam and radiographs. Your GPS team will let you know what is recommended for your treatment case.
Brush twice daily (implants can still build plaque).
Use your Waterpik® twice daily.
Wear your night guard to protect implants.
Keep dental cleaning appointments (every 6 months).
Avoid tobacco—smoking reduces implant success rates.

Slow down your speech to allow muscles to adapt.
