The 10th Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) Summit is an event organized by the Conservation and Development Division – Protected Areas Management and Biodiversity Conservation Section (CDD-PAMBCS) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON.
As the lead government agency responsible for the conservation, management, and protection of the country’s natural, biological, and physical resources, the DENR continues to promote effective environmental governance through initiatives aligned with Republic Act No. 11038 or the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (E-NIPAS) Act of 2018.
This 2-day summit will bring together newly appointed and current PAMB members from the twenty-five (25) Protected Areas within CALABARZON. With a focus on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and addressing challenges in protected area management, the event aims to strengthen the capacity of PAMB members in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
Key topics include:
Current status of Protected Areas in the region
Roles and functions of the Protected Area Management Board members
Discussion of pressing issues and challenges in Protected Area management
Formulation of unified penalties for violations of RA 11038 to improve enforcement and regulation across all PAs
The summit serves as a platform for dialogue, consensus-building, and forging stronger partnerships to ensure the long-term protection and sustainability of the region’s natural heritage.
