Stan Yazawa spent an astonishing 49 years as head coach of the Denmark wrestling team.  Throughout those years, Coach Yazawa built a program that has been a staple in Northeast Wisconsin wrestling.  

Coach Yazawa compiled a dual record of 475-218.  His teams earned 34 tournament championships, 10 conference championships, 8 regional championships, and 2 sectional championships.  Individually, he has also coached 306 tournament champions, 119 conference champions, 108 regional champions, 36 sectional champions, 70 state qualifiers, 45 state place winners, and 3 state champions.

Coach Yazawa taught English at the high school and was an assistant football coach for many years under Hall of Fame football Coach Jerry Leiterman.  

Coach Yazawa has earned many honors throughout his professional career including  being inducted into the George Martin Wisconsin Wrestling Hall of Fame, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the Wisconsin Football Hall of Fame.  In addition to these impressive accolades, Coach Yazawa is one of the most highly regarded wrestling coaches in the history of Wisconsin and is very respected by his peers.  His influence on high school wrestling is still being felt today and his impact on his wrestlers will last forever.
