Community Business Partners

Community Business Partners ________________________________________________________________________

We are entering our 14th year of our Denison Elementary Business Partner Program. Our motto is "Building Tomorrow's Future Together." Our Business Partner Goals are:

1. Strengthen school and community partnerships by providing our community business leaders with a welcome and active role in our school community.

2. Expose students to a variety of career opportunities within our community.

3. Develop an understanding of the character traits and how these are essential skills to produce responsible and productive citizens.

We do this by having each business and class commit to making it a goal to meet three times during the school year. Activities are designed to help students and Business Partners develop a strong relationship. Students learn the importance of character in both school and work environments, learn about their partners place of employment, and how academic skills of reading, math, and science connect to the world of work. By the end of the year, students will know more about their business partner and their place of employment and the partner will be a welcome part of the class and become more familiar with our school. We are blessed in Denison to have businesses take such an active role in our schools.
