Drive through the fence/gate on the north side of the school to leave your school vehicles. You may enter the school through the back cafeteria door. PLEASE SEE THE MAP FOR MORE DETAILS.
Spectator parking will be in the main parking lot south of the high school. Students may be dropped off near the front entrance on the east side of the high school building in the circle drive. The main entrance to the high school and west entrance near the school vehicle parking lot will be open to enter the high school during the contest day. Please tell your students to inform their families to park and enter through the main doors. All other entrances will be locked.
See the website for the parking map.
Please email ckoster@denisoncsd.org or lolsen@denisoncsd.org if you have questions about building accommodations. All centers are on the main level.
The student performers can set up "camp" in the gymnasium on the main floor or upper level.
WI-FI will be available for students or spectators on our guest link; however it is recommended that items necessary for performance be DOWNLOADED before contest day.
In order to make a student title change or drop, you must fill out the GOOGLE CHANGE FORM on the IHSSA website prior to the contest day or see SCHEDULE page for the link to GOOGLE CHANGE FORM. No subs are allowed at the State level in IE’s.
If you desire written comments for your performer, the student must hand the room chairperson a comment sheet before each performance and have the top portion filled out. A rating will still be given if there is no comment sheet. The completed comment sheets may be picked up by the school’s coach in the Office when the last of the school’s contestants are finished performing and their sections have been posted. If you want comment sheets mailed to you, you must leave a stamped, self-addressed envelope at the office. Extra comment sheets will be available in the office if a coach forgets theirs.
REMINDER THAT NO PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOTAPING OF ANY PERFORMANCE IS PERMITTED. THE IHSSA WILL NOT GRANT ANY SPECIAL PERMISSIONS.
Please read your constitution about providing your own media formatted presentation for the new category of Videocasting. This is the responsibility of each school to bring equipment, including a projector and speakers. NO SPEAKERS, PROJECTORS, OR SMARTBOARDS will be provided. A flat surface to project on will be provided.
Please inform your spectators, parents, etc., as per the State Office, there will be a suggested donation of $5.00 to watch all the performers on the day of contest.
Throughout the day, there will be students/parents/helpers located throughout the building to assist with directions, questions, and noise control. Direct questions to them and inform your students of their purpose.
Ratings will be posted outside the high school gym as they become available, and updated on the website. Please DO NOT ask in the office when a section will be posted. Our office helpers will post ratings as quickly as possible. Please DO NOT try to pick your comment sheets until all your group ratings are posted in the gym.
Encourage your students to be very careful about noise in the hallways and commons. Please tell your students to behave with decorum at all times. Students may not play music unless they use headphones. Our students respect our school facilities, and we expect that of our visitors as well.
During the day, coaches are encouraged to help “patrol” the areas where the students are located, including the gym, cafeteria, and hallways.
The women’s locker room will be open for female students to change. Males will need to change in the restrooms.
There will be a medical professional staffed in the building during the contest day in case of any sudden illness/injury. The best way to find him will be to check in the office.
Concessions will be available all day. The morning will have breakfast foods and regular concessions in the lobby concession stand. For lunch, more options will also be available in the cafeteria. Food/coffee trucks will be available outside as well.
NO food or drinks other than water will be allowed in contest centers or the gym. Food should be eaten in the cafeteria.
Thanks and have a great day!
