Our Mission & and School goals

Our mission is to educate responsible citizen-scholars for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship.

At HPM aka The "Pride"  we’re all in this together. We will be focused on the concept of Ubuntu: "I am because we are." 

This is broken into three goals

"Rigorous Intellectual prep” To ensure high engagement classrooms we read the lessons and the texts, write out the HOL, exemplars/CFS, and scaffold key questions for each lesson. This helps scholars discover the tools needed for achievement. We celebrate scholar effort and the academic risks they take.

"Purpose over power 2.0" We work to build trust with each other, our scholars and their families. We work to ensuring the curriculum reflects our scholars’ rich and diverse backgrounds. We explain the why behind systems and learning. We listen to feedback from each other, scholars, and families. 

"A Culture of Pride" We take pride in the work we are doing together. We design an environment in which every child wants to succeed because they see themselves reflected in this environment. Each scholar believes they are a member of the community.
