Drugs are Bad

It is obvious that drugs are bad. The title says it all. So, which drugs are commonly used and what are the effects of them?

MARIJUANA

Marijuana is the most common drug out there. It is in the drug class of cannabinoids. It is not illegal in some states. States like Colorado have already legalized marijuana. Marijuana can be smoked or swallowed. The effects result in the user getting high. Marijuana can result in anxiety and panic and can damage the lungs.

HEROIN

Heroin is classified as an opioid. Opioids are substances that act on opioid receptors to produce morphine-like effects. Medically they are primarily used for pain relief, including anesthesia. Heroin is one of the most common opioids. It is illegal in nearly all 50 states. Heroin is commonly snorted through the nose or injected. Sharing used needles from the use of injecting heroin can cause HIV. Use of heroin can cause decreased kidney function.

COCAINE

Cocaine is classified as a stimulant. Stimulants is an overarching term that covers many drugs including those that increase activity of the body, drugs that are pleasurable and invigorating, or drugs that have sympathomimetic effects. Like heroin, cocaine is illegal. Cocaine is made mostly in Columbia but can be made pretty much anywhere. Cocaine can be smoked, snorted, or injected for consumption. Side effects of cocaine is coughing up blood, itching, fever, and much much more.

METHAMPHETAMINE

Commonly known as meth, meth can be smoked, injected, or snorted. Meth is used as a medicine but is commonly misused. It can treat ADHD and help people lose weight. Side effects include irregular heart beat, panic, psychosis, and or heart failure.

IN CONCLUSION

Drugs are bad. They can kill you or leave you with permanent damage that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Only do these drugs for medical purposes and not just to get all high and thinking you are cool. Because, drugs are not cool. So, say no to drugs.
