I love spending time outdoors especially when I can enjoy a beautiful sunset as seen on the photo to the left.
This is my third year at Ashley Falls School and my tenth year of teaching. I obtained my bachelor's degree from San Diego State University of Liberal Studies in December of 2013 and then went on to earn my Bilingual Multiple Subject Teaching Credential which I completed in May of 2015. Shortly after obtaining my teaching credential I began teaching 2nd grade in a Spanish Immersion classroom in Fall of 2015 and continue to do so today. In my years of teaching I have had multiple professional development opportunities with the latest being CGI and EEI. They both included time spent understanding student thinking and time to plan and reflect for the classroom. Practices I prioritize in teaching are collaborating with fellow teachers in analyzing assessment data, reflecting on our teaching, and adapting the lessons as needed to meet the needs of our students.

What to Expect in 2nd Grade
I believe that every student has different strengths and is capable of achieving success when we (teachers, families and students) work as a team. Students need a safe, challenging environment to learn and grow mentally, emotionally and socially. I strive to create this environment for my students where they can reach their full potential. I do this when I create an engaging and safe learning environment as well as help build a positive classroom community where everyone feels comfortable taking risks and making mistakes that help us learn. My goal is to build connections with all of my students which will allow me to best serve their needs in and out of the classroom and promote lifelong learning through inquiry and exploration.
Life Outside of the Eagle's Nest
I am one of four siblings and an aunt to four nieces and a nephew. My family is everything to me. I love dogs and have had the opportunity to foster three dogs with the last one becoming my foster fail. His name is Joey, which came from when he was a puppy and use to hop like a baby kangaroo (also known as a joey) and now even though he is almost 3 years old he still does his puppy eyes for treats and attention. When I'm not with my students my fiancé and I enjoy taking our dog out on adventures whether that be a trail walk, beach day, kayaking out on the bay or trying new food at a local restaurant. I also enjoy playing board games with friends, learning new styles of dancing or watching movies while eating snacks.
