Del Mar Heights
I have had the honor of teaching in the DMUSD for 29 years...as a Del Mar Heights Kindergarten for 28 years and one year in First Grade. I moved to San Diego in 1990 to attend SDSU, where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Afterward, I attended USD for graduate school earning a Master’s degree in Special Education and my California Multiple Subject Teacher Credential.
I am delighted to be one of your child’s first teachers on their educational journey. Kindergarten is a magical place; children gain strategies to become creative thinkers, make responsible choices, make decisions in their learning activities and build academic confidence.

I believe Kindergartners learn best when adults are mindful of the “whole child”. By doing so, social, emotional, physical, cognitive and sensory needs are nurtured through developmentally appropriate activities. I value each child’s individuality and cherish the opportunity to nurture the skills each of my students need to be successful.
I believe each child can reach their full potential when given a warm, fun, and caring environment to grow and learn. I believe in instilling a love for learning and mutual respect. "What happens in Kindergarten lasts a lifetime.”
