My name is Shawna Murphy and I graduated from California State University San Marcos. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and my Masters in Education. This will be my 20th year teaching First Grade at Torrey Hills. When I began my teaching career, I was a long term substitute in the Del Mar School District for two years at Torrey Hills and Ashley Falls, which makes it a total of 22 years with DMUSD.
First Grade is an exciting year for students and families. You can always reach me through email during the school day. I am thrilled to meet your children and each of you!

Life Outside of the Hawk's Nest
I am originally from Agoura Hills, California and moved to San Diego to go to college. I currently live in Poway with my husband, Brian, who is the Video Director at San Diego State University for athletics and my two daughters Cali and Finley. Cali is a freshman at SDSU and we are excited for her next chapter in life! Finley is an 8th grader who attends Meadowbrook Middle School, she is in ASB and is beginning the new chapter of Travel Ball for Softball! We enjoy going to the beach, going to Padres games and SDSU football and basketball games! We are a busy family in sports, you can find us on the softball field or football field every weekend!
