Educational Philosophy & What to Expect in 2nd Grade
When thinking about creating a learning environment where all students are engaged and sharing their knowledge, we strive to provide...
A cooperative classroom environment where students and teachers learn from each other.
A learning community where kids feel confident to take risks and challenge themselves.
Opportunities to foster higher level thinking skills that allow us to compare, collaborate, refine and share as we problem solve.
Model a love of lifelong learning and positive growth mindset.
2nd grade is a wonderful year to gain independence and develop responsibility. Thank you for joining us on this learning adventure.
Life Outside of the Hawk's Nest

Hello Students and Families! When not teaching, I enjoy traveling, bike riding, hiking, and spending time with my own two kids. We have a big garden with chickens and lots of vegetables. Our girls play soccer, surf and keep me busy! I believe in being healthy by exercising and eating well, surrounding ourselves with positive people, and working hard to maintain focus on our goals. I look forward to getting to know you this year and learning with you.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have a husband and two daughters. We love to travel and spend time in or near the water. I love animals and have 2 cats and a dog. I am an avid reader and love watching tv and movies to unwind. I look forward to getting to know you and your families this year.
