Bienvenidos a Torrey Hills, Ocean Air and Del Mar Heights

I have taught Spanish for the last 17 years, and continue to be passionate about Spanish/Latin culture. This is my third year here in DMUSD. I will be teaching 6th grade students at Torrey Hills, Ocean Air and Del Mar Heights.

I grew up in beautiful San Diego and have spent time living abroad in Spain and Mexico. I attended the University of San Diego for my undergraduate work in Spanish where I also received my teaching credential. Additionally, I have a Masters degree in Global and International Education from Drexel University.

When I am not teaching, I have a crew of 6 kiddos at home that keep me busy. We love to be playing at the beach, swimming and everything sports.

Educational Philosophy

Learning a world language is a chance to broaden one's horizon. A chance to learn about new cultures and people that may look and talk differently from one's own upbringing. I hope to create global learners that get excited about learning a new language, and are intrigued to explore the diverse world we live in.

Monday and Friday - Torrey Hills

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - Ocean Air/Heights

Spanish class expectations:

1) explore and develop an understanding of many of the Spanish speaking cultures.

2) read, write, listen to and speak Spanish.

3) develop global knowledge and perspective.

4) have fun while exploring a new language.
