Hello! My name is Mrs. Nicole Besaw and I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade at Pacific Sky!
This is my 12th year working in education! I have experience teaching a variety of grade levels. In addition to teaching, I was an instructional coach for 2 years. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (go Badgers!) with a degree in Elementary Education. I also have my Masters Degree in Educational Administration. I am so thrilled to learn alongside the 5th grade students at Pacific Sky this year. It's going to be a great year! Go Pilots!
To foster meaningful engagement in learning, students should see their strengths and interests reflected in the classroom environment. I place a high value on personalizing learning experiences to meet the needs of each student. I am excited to build strong relationships and cultivate a collaborative learning community—one where students support one another, honor each other’s unique strengths, and persevere through challenges together.
I am committed to empowering students to become reflective, independent thinkers who apply problem-solving skills across both academic and social contexts.
Outside the classroom, my life is very full and busy! With two little boys, ages 5 and 3, we are constantly on the go. Our family enjoys traveling, camping, going to the beach, riding bikes, and spending time in the California sunshine. Every summer we go back to Wisconsin where I am originally from to make wonderful memories with family!
