Welcome To Ms. Harp’s Class!
My name is Karen Harp and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher. I am looking forward to a year of challenges, learning, and fun as I guide and instruct your child through the coming year. It is my desire and goal to create a happy and safe environment that will stimulate learning, growth, and joy in every child.
I have been teaching in Del Mar for many years and have been fortunate enough to have taught first, second and third grade. I received my degree and credential from The University of San Diego as well as a Masters in Teaching and Learning. I am also a mom to two amazing boys, Spencer and Lucas. They are starting their second year at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and freshman year at Rancho Bernardo High School respectively. I feel like I have the best two jobs in the world; teaching your children and being a mom to mine. 🙂

When I am not in my role as a teacher, I am also a mom. I have two active and amazing boys. Spencer is 19, a second year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, an avid baseball fan, lover of the outdoors, and a Lifeguard. Lucas is 15 and ready to start his High School adventure. We spend a lot of time together rooting for the Padres, going to the beach, loving on our pups Lucy and Trixie, going on adventures and visiting family up in Northern California.
