As I begin my ninth year in the classroom at Carmel Del Mar School, teaching first grade, I am reminded of the power and importance of positivity. The choice of positivity or optimism can keep us going, believing, and moving toward what we hope will be a better tomorrow. Positivity, or rather choosing to be light in the midst of darkness, will guide our intentions as we pursue learning this year and truly reach for success. This year we will seek to be a bright light as a class, as we learn, innovate, and empower each other in order to impact our community at large.
With positivity, we will embrace a school year ahead that will be marked by many failures that will urgently lead us to abundant success. As a school family, our mission is to uphold safety and respect so as to learn, and to learn well. A world pandemic or not, this Whipple School Family will seek to be a bright light as we navigate an educational journey that will no doubt take being fearless, practicing gratitude, exercising empowerment, dreaming big, and choosing positivity.
My hope for this school year is that your child meets learning with a passion fueled by interest.
My hope is that your child lives curiously this year, dwelling in inquiry as a means of further developing into a lifelong learner.
My hope is that your child gains an understanding of how learning is a doorway through which we can enter to positively influence and better the world at large.
My hope is that your child further experiences the joy of humanity and what it means to respectfully interact and care for one another.
My hope is that your child learns the beauty of embracing failure in order to succeed.
And lastly, but certainly not least, my hope is that every child in our Whipple School Family has a year of fun, filled with the volume of laughter!
With all that being said, welcome to the Whipple First Grade School Family! I can hardly wait to meet you all. Our classroom “door” is always open, and you are always invited. Join us and journey with us as a bright light this year! We are in this TOGETHER!
Ms. Whipple can often be found with her goldendoodle Levi (as pictured above) trotting along the beach or drinking coffee at one of her favorite local coffee shops. She loves to host and gather friends in the spirit of celebrating anything and everything. Ms. Whipple loves to cook and has recently picked up the quarantine hobby of baking sourdough. In her free time, while it may be sparse, she also enjoys reading, running, walking, being outside, family, traveling, and like mentioned before, safely gathering with friends.
