I am excited to be your teacher this year! It is going to be a year filled with lots of new learning adventures. I can't wait to get to know all about you, but first, here is a bit about me and my path to becoming a teacher...
I am a graduate of UC Santa Barbara.
Following my undergraduate experience, I applied my BA in Business/Economics for a few years before returning to graduate school to attain my Teaching Credential and Masters Degree in Education.
I student taught at the Del Mar Hills Academy. After completing my student teaching, I was fortunate enough to be hired to teach Kindergarten at Torrey Hills from the first day it opened and since then have taught both first and second grades. I also had the unique experience of teaching second grade virtually for the DMUSD Launch Program.

Life away from the "Hawk's Nest"...
I grew up in Orange County as a child to 2 educators. My mom taught kindergarten for 38 years and my dad was an educator at the collegiate level.
My husband Jason is a exercise enthusiast - and I do my best to keep up with him - in exercise and life!
I have 2 energetic boys - Kai and Tate. They both love surfing, water polo, and being with friends. Teaching has helped me to be a better parent. Parenting has helped me to be a better teacher!
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, staying active, and enjoying the amazing city we call home!
Educational Philosophy
I love teaching children! They have so much spirit and excitement for learning. I set high expectations for ALL students! My goal is to inspire each child to be excited about learning, have empathy for others, take risks, practice a growth mindset, and learn from the process and the mistakes made along the way.
Each child's education is very important to me, as I know it is to your family. As we become partners in your child's life and education for this school year, I want to work as a team to make this a fantastic experience for your child! Together, we can help your child develop a genuine love for learning and a strong educational foundation that supports the years to come!
