Welcome to
Ashley Falls School

My husband Andrew and I with our daughter, Everly

I grew up in Long Island, N.Y, and moved to Rhode Island to attend the University of Rhode Island. Here, I received my bachelor’s degree in Child Development & Family Studies and Elementary Education. In 2011, I made the move out to sunny San Diego to continue my education at the University of San Diego for my Masters and Credential in Special Education. Upon graduating, I taught at Aseltine School, a non-public school in San Diego. I am now heading into my 8th year teaching Special Education at Ashley Falls, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Educational Philosophy & What to Expect in Our CCI Class

I chose a job that I love and found my niche in the special education setting. I believe that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences and learning creatively. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. I want students to leave my classroom feeling confident that they can apply what they’ve learned in school to real-life situations. I want my students to feel challenged and to have an enhanced passion for learning.

To have a place of growing knowledge and acceptance is what I want for my classroom and look towards a successful school year together! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us!

Life Outside of the Eagle's Nest

I love living in Encinitas with my amazing husband Andrew, where we always enjoy the great weather! During my free time, I go to the beach, surf, run, ride my bike, enjoy staying active, but I also enjoy relaxing and reading a good book! I love spending time with my family who live on Long Island, and often visit them during my time off!
