Educational Philosophy & What to Expect in STEAM+ Art

"The Child is the artist"

I run the Sage Canyon art studio as a TAB (teaching for artistic behavior) studio. This means that students are given the opportunity to develop their artistic minds through choice. Students are taught techniques, art vocabulary, art concepts, and art history. They are free to make choices about what media and techniques they'd like to explore. They work to find their own ideas, develop craft, engage and persist, reflect, and more. I am excited to work with all of our young artists this year as they discover their artistic voices.

Sage Canyon students can look forward to working in a variety of media this year. They will learn drawing, collage, printmaking, painting, ceramics, sculpture and more.
