Beth Davis- 5th Grade Teacher
Educational Background and Professional Experience: This year marks my 11th year teaching! In 2010, I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a minor in Spanish. I always knew I wanted to be an educator so in 2013, I obtained my Bilingual Spanish Teaching Credential from California State University, San Marcos. Shortly after, I returned to school to get a Master's Degree in Multilingual Education. I certainly consider myself a lifelong learner! I have taught third grade for 5 years, second grade for 1 year, fourth grade for 1 year and this marks my fourth year in fifth!
In 2019, I fulfilled a life-long dream of mine to teach abroad. I taught at an International School in Bangkok, Thailand and had an incredible experience. Having this global perspective certainly shapes me as an educator and I love sharing my passion for international mindedness with my students.

What to Expect in 5th Grade
I believe all students are capable of doing amazing things! I empower students to discover their personal strengths and unique abilities to shape our world in order to make it a better place for all. I believe in teaching the whole child with a strong emphasis on Social Emotional Learning. One of my favorite quotes about education is by Aristotle: "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all."
Get ready fifth graders for an amazing year, exploring your personal greatness!
Life Outside of the Hawk's Nest
When I am not teaching my kiddos, I love to take my dog Mowgli to the beach and spend time with my husband, Tim and daughter, Presley. We love to travel as much as possible and see as much of this beautiful world as we can!
