Hi! I’m Amy Smith, and I’m excited to be an Innovation Technologist for the Del Mar Union School District!
This year, I’m excited to partner with teachers to bring Innovation into their classrooms and connect technology, with the amazing learning already happening in each grade level.
I’m looking forward to creating, designing, and learning alongside our students and teachers!
I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego, along with a BCLAD credential in Spanish and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I’ve been working in education for 19 years and have had the opportunity to teach students across all grade levels, including in two Spanish immersion programs.

Innovation Purpose Statement:
When we provide our students opportunities to look closely at the world in a novel way and ask questions of themselves and others, then students connect with other people in their community and the world, generate new perspectives, develop a sense of ownership over their ideas, innovate, and create something of value for someone else.

I’m not just about teaching and learning. I’m happiest when I’m outdoors, whether that’s catching waves at the beach or finding serenity in the mountains. I live in sunny San Diego with my husband Ricky, our daughter Banksy, and our pup Melo. We're always on the move, exploring new spots around the city—so if you see us out and about, don’t hesitate to say hi!
