Dear families and students,

Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Julie Karcsay and I am so happy to be your child's teacher this year. I am a graduate of Purdue University with a major in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters in Literacy at California State University San Marcos and I hold a Reading Specialist Credential. I have been teaching for 26 years.   I have taught kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade, and reading intervention.  

The fourth grade team has planned an amazing year of learning for our students.  We are looking forward to a wonderful year!

Welcome to our classroom! 

I am so thrilled to be a part of the Torrey Hills Family. My name is Melissa Vargas and I am joining the DMUSD team after teaching in Elementary Schools for over 10 years in Orange County, CA. I completed my undergraduate studies and gained my teaching credential at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I also hold a Masters in Educational Administration. During my teaching journey I have taught kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade. 

I am eager to meet all of you and spend a wonderful year together!
