I believe that reading is foundational for education and success in life, and my goal is to help instill a love of books and reading in your child. Here in the innovation center/library, I also am available to help students with research and my hope is that they will learn skills here that they can use all throughout their education and life.
I love talking about books! Come anytime for book recommendations or to recommend a book to me.
New this year: We are excited about the opening of our 5th/6th Learning Lounge which includes a special library collection. 5th & 6th grade students are able to use the self-service kiosk to search for and reserve books, check books in and out, and read recommendations. It's a great place to hang out and read or study.
Our Sage BookWORMs (Workers of Reading Materials) are 5th and 6th grade students who apply and are chosen to volunteer in the library.
BookWORMs are awesome helpers who do things like shelve books, book circulation, help students with the researcher/library chromebooks, and more.
In addition to loving reading, I also write my own stories and love all things bookish like visiting bookstores and libraries and going to author events. My husband and I have 3 kids and as a family we enjoy watching baseball and movies, camping, and going to the beach. I also love watching my kids play softball, baseball, and basketball.
Check out the Sage Canyon Chatter, a digital newspaper created and published by our upper graders.
