Hello!

My name is Kristina Rostomily, aka Miss Rosty. I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade here at Pacific Sky. I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about myself.

Fun Facts:

• I am a fraternal twin with my sister.

• I am SCUBA certified (but I also enjoy snorkeling).

• Hobbies: Yoga, golf, snowboarding, and going to the beach!

Background:

I completed my undergrad at San Diego State University in 2014, earning a BA in Psychology. After that, I spent 7 years as an animal trainer at SeaWorld working with both aquatic and land animals. It was truly an incredible experience and I am excited to bring my love of animals & positive reinforcement into the classroom experience. In conjunction with that, in 2018 I began working as a substitute teacher. Little did I know that this was the spark to creating a new dream, to become an elementary school educator!

In 2021, I decided to make the full-time transition to the field of education. I have always enjoyed working with children and I obtained my teaching credential and Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. I have been working for DMUSD over the last year and a half in a variety of site substitute teaching roles, and I look forward to carrying this experience with me into the classroom!

Overall, I feel my diverse experiences have shaped me to be a dedicated, supportive, and inclusive educator. I want you to know that we are a team when it comes to your child's education and well-being. I am looking forward to getting to know you and having a wonderful year together!
