Welcome to Pacific Sky
My name is Melissa Davis and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year! I have worked for the Del Mar Union School district since 2002 at both Del Mar Hills Academy and Ashley Falls and now Pacific Sky. I have taught 2nd, 5th and 6th grade, and this is my fifth year teaching 3rd grade.

What to Expect in 3rd Grade
Students in 3rd grade should expect to participate in robust and meaningful learning experiences. With core academics and curriculum as the foundation of student learning, our 3rd grade students are also encouraged to use ownership and choice in their learning.
HIghlights of our 3rd grade curriculum include:

My primary goal is to connect with students and ensure that I am meeting each individuals academic and social/emotional needs. I believe in the importance of a rigorous and strong academic foundation, which is built through collaboration and innovation. I also strive to ensure that each student feels comfortable and safe coming to school each day. I want my students to feel excited about the learning that they have done each and every day at school.

Life Outside the Hangar
While teaching is my passion, outside of school I enjoy nothing more then spending time with my family. My husband Brian and I have lived in San Diego since 2002 when we first got married. My daughter Shai is 19 and is a sophomore at Indiana University. I also have twin boys Micah and Eytan who are 9th grade students at Westview HIgh School. When we aren't at school, some of our favorite activities include traveling and exploring, cuddling with our dog Lev, cooking together, being active outdoors, watching sports and live musical theatre.
