Teaching Philosophy: "My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas, take risks, and encouraged to think deeply and differently.
"I believe that there are four essential elements that are conducive to learning. (1) A safe, valued, and nurturing relationship with the teacher. (2) A student's thinking is valued, visible, and actively promoted as part of the regular, day-to-day experience. (3) Students should be provided with agency letting curiosity direct their learning. (4) Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. "
A little more about me: I’m entering my 29th year of teaching, 24th year in fourth grade. In my free time I enjoy yoga, running, watching sports, and experiencing life with my significant other, Bill and our two dogs, Stella and Poppy. For pleasure, you'll find me reading novels, writing letters, and journaling. I value and miss my family in Kansas; the plains of the midwest bring me much joy. You won't find a bigger Kansas Jayhawk and Kansas City Chief's fan than Ms. Money!
