After 6 years of teaching, I moved to Del Mar School District and have been here for 21 years, where I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I'm excited to be a member of the 6th grade team this year!

As an educator I hope to instill a passion for learning. I want them to understand that being uncomfortable is part of the learning process. Through that journey, they will learn to have empathy, respect, and self confidence. I want my students to be collaborators that understand their strengths and weaknesses as individuals. Through collaboration, they will be successful leaders and listeners for each other.
Sixth grade is an exciting year. It is a year to transition into middle school mentality. This year they will learn how to be critical thinkers through reading, writing, and math. Organization and independence are skills I hope each of my students walk away with at the end of the year. We also want to have fun learning!
Outside of the classroom I am very busy. My 2 daughters, Lily (18) and Maya (14), spend a lot of time playing basketball. My husband, Oliver and I, enjoy watching them compete in tournaments. My older daughter is a freshman at University of Oregon and my younger daughter is a freshman at Torrey Pines High school. In my downtime, I enjoy sewing and being crafty. I make tote bags, fanny packs, and anything else I find on Pinterest. Being healthy is important to me. I make an effort to run outside and breathe in fresh air, from time to time.
