Hello!

My name is Kristina Rostomily, aka Miss Rosty. I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade here at Carmel Del Mar. I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about myself. 

I completed my undergrad at San Diego State University in 2014, earning a BA in Psychology.  After that, I spent 7 years as an animal trainer at SeaWorld working with both aquatic and land animals. It was truly an incredible experience and has been a joy to bring my love of animals & positive reinforcement into the classroom experience. In conjunction with that, in 2018 I began working as a substitute teacher. Little did I know that this was the spark to creating a new dream, to become an elementary school educator!

In January 2021, I decided to make the full-time transition to the field of education. During this time I obtained my teaching credential and Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, while also working as a site sub in DMUSD at Sage Canyon and Sycamore Ridge. I was fortunate to spend my first year teaching at Pacific Sky during the last school year, and I look forward to another incredible year at Carmel Del Mar with all of you! 

Overall, I feel my diverse experiences have shaped me to be a dedicated, supportive, and inclusive educator. I want you to know that we are a team when it comes to your child's education and well-being. I am looking forward to getting to know you and having a wonderful year together.
