Be kind, work hard, and have fun!

Make the impossible, possible

and the possible, extraordinary.

You can look forward to learning so many exciting things this year! In third grade, students go on exciting journeys as readers, expanding their ability to read critically beyond the text and apply critical-thinking reading strategies.  As writers, they will strengthen their skills to add descriptive details, figurative language, and more sophisticated sentence structure in all three genres including narrative, opinion, and expository.  As mathematicians, they will hone their ability to critically think through problem solving in all four operations, learn more deeply about multiplication, division, and fractions, and build upon second grade skills in measurement. We will engage in exciting learning about local San Diego history, including the Kumeyaay Native American tribe, and experience fun science adventures about animal and plant adaptations, forces and motion, and weather and climate! Third grade is an amazing year of growth and I am so excited to be a part of it with you!

Life Outside of the Hawk's Nest

When I am not having fun with  third graders, I love to hang out and have adventures with my family.  My daughter Emma is a college sophomore at Mira Costa Community College, planning to transfer to a UC in fall of 2024, and my son, Jackson, is a junior at Torrey Pines High School. We love to go to the beach to boogie-board, watch movies, go to Disneyland, and play board games.  I love to go running (especially on the beach), cross-stitch, scrapbook, and sing and play piano.  I teach piano lessons and love music!  I am always reading a good book and love to share and exchange them with friends.  I love to bake and have a not-so-secret love of candy!  I love the color red and anything with polka-dots!  Most importantly, I love to laugh and try to do so as much as possible!
