Welcome! I'm so happy you are here! I have been teaching for 30 years, beginning my career in Saratoga, California. I came to Del Mar Union School District in 1998. Since joining Sycamore Ridge School in 2006, I have had the joy of teaching Kindergarten, where I spent many wonderful years helping young learners build a strong foundation and a love of school. This year marks an exciting new chapter as I begin my first full year teaching first grade! I’m thrilled to be job-sharing with Sarah Rose and look forward to an amazing year of learning, growing, and celebrating our students’ successes together.

Educational Philosophy
I believe every child learns best when they feel seen, valued, and encouraged. My goal is to develop the whole child by meeting each student where they are academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning while creating a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow. Through positive reinforcement, meaningful relationships, and engaging learning experiences, I help students build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to become lifelong learners.

Life Outside of the Stallion's Stable
I began teaching at Sycamore the year my oldest son, Cole started Kindergarten. He is now 24, and recently graduated from SDSU as a communications major. My youngest son, Aidan is turning 21 in a week, I can't believe how fast time flies! Aidan is a senior at Chico State College and is pursueing a degree in the music industry. I have very fond memories of my boys attending Sycamore Ridge and coming to school with me each day. My husband Rob and I met in college and started our careers in the Bay area. Rob's dream job brought us to San Diego in 1998, where he is the Men’s Basketball Coach for Cuyamaca Community College in Rancho San Diego. When we are not busy working we love to travel. We spent our summer in Hawaii, Tahoe, and Arizona. I love living in Carmel Valley. I feel so lucky to be able to ride my bike to school (on occasion) and walk my Yorkies, Bobby and Ace to the local dog park. It is so fun running into students, new and old out in our community.
