Educational Background and Professional Experience:
This will be my 10th year as a speech-language pathologist in the Del Mar Union School District. I am originally from Merced, California, and moved to San Diego to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development at San Diego State University. While working closely with preschool-age children and collaborating with speech-language pathologists, I discovered my passion for supporting communication development, which led me to earn my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University San Marcos.
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals ranging in age from toddlers to adults, though I have specialized in early intervention and elementary school-based services. I have experience supporting a wide range of speech and language needs, including articulation and phonological disorders, language delays, fluency (stuttering), social communication challenges, and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

As a speech-language pathologist, my approach is rooted in the belief that every child is capable of growth when given support, connection, and opportunities they need. I prioritize building trusting relationships with each student and their family, creating a warm and structured environment where children feel safe to take risks and build confidence in their communication. I use a strengths-based lens and tailor therapy to each child’s individual needs, incorporating movement, play, visuals, and total communication strategies, including verbal speech, gestures, signs, and AAC, so that every child has a meaningful way to express themselves.
Families can expect open communication, collaboration, and a thoughtful balance of evidence-based practice with creativity and flexibility. My goal is to help children not only make measurable progress in their communication skills but also feel seen, valued, and successful in their daily lives.
When I am not at Sycamore, I am usually running around with my husband and two boys, who are 5 and 3. We love staying active and are often at the beach, kayaking, on a walk, or enjoying a local park. I also try to make time for reading, experimenting in the kitchen, pilates, and yoga.
