Welcome to 6th Grade! Here's a little background information about me! I am a native San Diegan, growing up in both La Jolla and Scripps Ranch. My undergraduate work was completed at Northern Arizona University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Wellness Management. I spent a couple of years running health programs for Hewlett Packard and Oracle in the Bay Area. I continued on to Dominican University for my graduate work, which consisted of a Teaching Credential and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Project Based Learning. This will be my 29th year of teaching and 27th year in the Del Mar School District!

I believe that a classroom should be a safe, caring community where students can discover their strengths and build off of them. I believe my job as a teacher is to facilitate that process and help students to learn by doing, exploring, and problem solving. Most of all, learning should be FUN and EXCITING!
Outside of being a teacher, I'm a mom to three adult kids! Zach is 23 and graduated from Chaminade University with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminology. He just finished an internship in neurofeedback and will be applying to graduate school in the fall. Nick is 21 and attends Northern Arizona University where he majors in Business/Marketing and fraternity life 😅. He will be graduating this year! Sierra is a sophomore at Boise State University where she is playing soccer and majoring in Kinesiology. Even though I have some decent experience raising kids......it takes a village!
