Educational Background and Professional Experience:
I am thrilled to be the speech language pathologist at Ashley Falls Elementary School. This will be my 34th year as a speech language pathologist and my 23rd year in the wonderful Del Mar Union School District. I work with students with a variety of communication needs providing services in the areas of receptive (what you understand) and expressive (what you say) language, pragmatic/social language, articulation, voice and fluency skills.
I have both a B.A (from San Diego State University) and a M.A (from University of Pacific) in Communicative Disorders. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, a license in Speech Language Pathology from the state of California and a California Clinical/Rehabilitative Services Credential. I am a frequent master teacher for graduate students in speech language pathology from CSUSM, SDSU and University of St. Augustine.

What to Expect in Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and language skills are the basic building blocks we use to build satisfying school, social and work lives. No matter who you are or what you do, you need to be able to communicate effectively.
My therapy lessons are developed with each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in mind. Children come to therapy to work on skills that are difficult for them. Therefore I try very hard to make therapy an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
I believe strongly in the home-school connection. Only with all of us working together, can we ensure that every child becomes a successful communicator. I look forward to working with each child and helping them achieve that goal. It is going to be a great year!

Life Outside of the Eagle's Nest
Life Outside of the Eagle's Nest
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have three children and I am a resident of Carmel Valley and the Ashley Falls community. All three of my children are Ashley Falls graduates! My son is a graduate of the University of Michigan and continues to live in Ann Arbor, my oldest daughter is a recent graduate from Virginia Tech and currently lives in Miami Florida and my youngest daughter is a sophomore at Canyon Crest Academy. Our family spends a great deal of time at the beach, traveling, relaxing at home and playing with our dog Kona.
