Educational Background and Professional Experience: I received a bilingual/bicultural teaching degree at the University of California Santa Barbara in June of 1991. The next month, I had my own classroom in the South Bay Union School district where I taught bilingual education for seven years. The remainder of my career has been in the Del Mar Union School District where I have taught second and third grades. This year will be my 28th year of teaching!

I believe building emotional intelligence is a key factor in in a child's social, emotional AND academic growth. It is my primary goal to create a space in which students feel confident, curious and excited. If this is achieved, the learning WILL follow.
Kindergarten is a magical place to be! It is where the foundation of your child's academic achievement is first developed. In Kinder, students begin to learn to read, write and develop their mathematical understanding. In addition to the academic content, we spend a lot of time on social and emotional skills which include taking turns, working cooperatively with others, communication, problem solving, self help skills and organization. I'm excited to be a part of your child's educational experience!
Some things I really enjoy are hanging out and surfing at the beach, gardening, cooking, reading and laughing with the ones I love.
