Welcome to Pacific Sky

Welcome to Music Class!

Hello! My name is Bridget Davies and this is my 8th year of teaching elementary music. I am so grateful to begin this journey with Del Mar Union School District! Before becoming a part of the DMUSD family, I taught for 2 years in Durham, NC and was selected to lead the after-school music class Kidznotes Mozart, where my K-2 musicians learned the basics of violin! I began my teaching career in Portland, OR where I taught for 5 years and had the opportunity to start an after-school choir. I hold my Bachelors of Music Education from Belmont University and love to continue my learning through Kodaly and Orff workshops and courses. I feel so lucky to join the STEAM+ team as a part of the DMUSD family, and can’t wait to make music with her new students!

What to Expect in STEAM+ Music

In STEAM+ Music, my hope is that our students will learn to explore and participate in the musical world around them. Through a Kodaly and Orff based scope & sequence of instruction, students will gain the necessary skills and literacy to create, perform, respond to and connect to music. It is my strong belief that a rich education in the arts fosters the growth of remarkable humans, and I hope to provide the musicians at Pacific Sky and Del Mar Heights with some of the experiences that have shaped who I am today and why I am a proud music educator. I feel very grateful to become a part of a community that supports the importance of STEAM+!

Life Outside the Hangar

When I am not teaching, I can be found enjoying the San Diego sunshine! One of my favorite ways to spend a day is reading on the beach, going on a hike, or seeing live music. My goal is to join a community orchestra because my primary instrument is the viola and I LOVE collaborating with other musicians! During the summer or school breaks I love to travel and explore new places.
