I am so happy to be part of your 3rd grader's life. Each year is always new and exciting. Together we will establish a new relationship where we look forward to new beginnings. Third grade is a year of where students learn to become their own independent learner, which sets the stage for further academic success and development. For this reason, I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade. I value my job as an educator of young children. My students are welcomed and introduced into the classroom as a family. We will learn, grow, and persevere together as learners. I am known for valuing student's happiness, making learning fun, holding high learning expectations, and sparking a learners curiosity in the world around them . I strive to educate children by making learners curious about the world by applying lessons that make connections which are meaningful and purposeful, so everyone is passionate about the learning. I truly believe if children learn through meaningful experiences that are geared toward their interests then they are capable of more than we could imagine. This is where I believe is the key to being a great learner and educator. This year our focus will be on becoming true independent learners. They will take part in their own learning by actively thinking, sharing ideas, questioning, actively engaging in the teaching and learning, and applying their knowledge to make their world even better. They will learn to lead with compassion, to take risks, and learn how to be flexible and positive in order to create a happy culture inside and outside the classroom. Most of all, they will learn to make true connections with the learning and the world around us. My door is always open, just like my teaching philosophy, where I am open to new ideas, thoughts, and communication. Therefore, with that said, I look forward to creating a learning atmosphere that is based on communication, student support, student growth, student independence, happiness, connectivity, flexibility, curiosity, passion, and ultimately student success. I truly believe that this year will be a great year for your child.

You will literally find me outside, when asking me what I do outside of my teaching career. I am an avid surfer and athlete who is always looking for adventure in the outdoors. I love to surround myself in nature. I am a huge advocate of our environment, and I am very passionate. I also love people, culture, and language. I have a 18 year old son, who I cherish, which I explore the amazing outdoors with. We also have a very important member of our family Jojo our 5 year old pup who we both adore.
