Estimadas familias:

My name is Alba Ruiz, or Profe Ruiz to students. This is my first year teaching at DMUSD and I'm beyond excited to get to know all the students and families!

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language Teaching at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain (where I am from!). I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Bilingual Authorization in Spanish and I’m currently obtaining my Master’s Degree in Neuropsychology and Education.

This will be my 12th year of teaching and it has always revolved around languages! I've taught:

1st & 2nd grade in Spanish Dual Immersion schools in the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
English as a Second Language to primary students in Madrid.
Spanish in a language academy in Berlin.

What to Expect in Steam+ Spanish

I am passionate about learning and teaching languages. I believe they open a fantastic window to the world and expand our horizons. My goal is to create a safe environment for my students to love Spanish and use it confidently in a variety of settings.

Students will be immersed in a Spanish world of fun and engaging activities including art, music and games. In addition, they will explore the many Spanish speaking cultures around the world, promoting and valuing diversity and inclusion.

It is my great desire for all my students to have fun while learning Spanish!
