I am Dr. Mikal Underwood, owner of Delight Connections, LLC. My mission is to facilitate divine & delight connections for families—whether single, coupled, or blended—by providing a 'delight touch' that transforms lives. We specialize in forging deep relationships and creating lasting friendships, while developing the practical systems and processes necessary to eliminate invisible barriers. Our goal is to help you set healthy boundaries, dismantle walls, and heal the scars that limit your family’s potential.

A Little About My Journey... My work is informed by a life of service and learning. I am a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and a career educator with 22 years of experience. My academic background—including a Doctorate and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting—allows me to approach family dynamics with both a teacher’s heart and a strategist’s mind.

Rooted in Faith and Community As an ordained minister at Tabernacle of Praise Church International, my faith is the foundation of my service. I am actively involved in leadership across several vital ministries, including Marriage, Divorce Care, Prison Ministry, and Congregational Care. Whether through mentoring college students or leading in my local community, my life’s work is dedicated to helping others find their breakthrough.

I am Dr. Tara Underwood, co-owner of Delight Connections, LLC.  I have over 30 years of leadership experience spanning higher education and corporate environments, having served as  distinguished professor, strategic public health professional, and sales operations manager. 

My faith-based activities include serving as a former Praise Team Leader on college campuses and other ministries; mentoring young adults through the Young Adult Ministry at Tabernacle of Praise Church International; and serving in the Prison Ministry alongside my husband, aunt, and others volunteers.

As a Health Promotion Specialist and Wellness Entrepreneur, I specialize in the comprehensive eight pillars of wellness: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, environmental, spiritual, occupational, and financial well-being—delivering transformative programs that empower individuals and organizations to achieve optimal health outcomes.

My educational background and training includes being a Fellow with the  Executive Leadership Institute in Atlanta, Georgia along with earning a Doctor of Health Administration, a Master of Science in Community Health (Health Promotion concentration), and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education.
