Greetings Wynbrooke Parents,
My name is Ms. Jelks, and I am thrilled to serve as your child’s librarian media specialist! I look forward to helping your child become a critical thinker, enthusiastic reader, skillful researcher, and an ethical user of information!
The school library is a vibrant space where students are encouraged to dive into the magical world of books, expand their knowledge, and develop critical thinking skills. This year, I’m excited to introduce engaging programs and activities that will spark curiosity and foster a lifelong passion for reading.
Here are a few things you can look forward to:
Library Visits: Each class will have regular library sessions where students can explore our diverse collection, check out books, and participate in fun literacy-based activities.
Special Programs: We’ll host events like book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges to inspire and celebrate our young readers.
Parent Involvement: Your support at home is invaluable! Encouraging daily reading habits, discussing books, and visiting the local library with your child are wonderful ways to nurture their love for reading.
Volunteer Opportunities: If you’re interested in becoming more involved, I’d love to have parent volunteers assist with library events or help maintain our collection. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our parent liaison if you’re interested.
To ensure a smooth experience, here are a few library guidelines:
Students are responsible for returning books on time and in good condition.
Families will be notified if a book is lost or damaged, and a replacement fee will be requested.
Open communication is always welcome; please reach out with any questions or concerns.
It is a privilege to work with your child(ren) and nurture their love for reading, learning, and exploration.
