Guidelines and Procedures
General Library safety Guidelines
All library staff and visitors will adhere to DCSD mitigation strategies.
Visual Cues will be used to help provide students with a visual for social distancing (line-up markers on floor, skip a seat, etc.)
Teachers must call the Media center (ext: 42329) prior to sending a student/students to the media center.
There will be no individual student visits if a class is in the Media Center
Teachers must schedule a class visit using the Library Trac system.
There will be a 30 minute cleaning sanitizing block after each class visit.
General Book Check-In Procedures
Books will be returned to a designated area as determined by the TL.
In-School Book Check-out
Grades 9-12: Up to 6 books
Student's will be taught to place holds and reserve books in Destiny. Teacher-librarian will push into classrooms to teach and reinforce this skill (How-to video available)
The teacher-librarian and library support personnel will pull reserved books from the shelves, label, and possibly deliver the books to the students or set a time in which students can pick up the reserved book(s).
Library Lessons in Classroom
The teacher-librarian will push into the classrooms and teach information literacy and technology skills.
The teacher-librarian will also teach information literacy and technology skills lessons in the media center whole class. *DCSD mitigation strategies will be followed.
