Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program provides students enrolled at an eligible public or private high school or home study program in Georgia the opportunity to earn high school and college credit at a participating eligible postsecondary institution in Georgia.
Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program offers students the opportunity to experience college courses and begin their college academic career while still in high school and provides for standard tuition, mandatory fees and required books.
Please make an appointment with your counselor if you would like more information regarding our dual enrollment process, courses, and colleges associated with Dekalb County Schools.
*Important Note: Transportation for Dual Enrollment students is not provided by Southwest Dekalb High School. Transportation arrangement must be made by the students and their families.
**Only students that are on-track for graduation may apply.
Dual Enrollment funding starts the summer after tenth grade.
You must see your designated counselor and check the school's eligibility before applying to make sure this is right for you.
Dual Enrollment allows you to earn both high school and college credit, so make the most of this opportunity.

Apply for admission to the college where you plan to participate in Dual Enrollment. SWD Students usually attend GSU, Clayton State University, GPTC, GMC, and GGC.
Make sure you complete the admissions application and request that your counselor submit your transcripts to the college.
Step 2) Funding Application:

Visit GAfutures.org and Log in or create an account.
Go to your dashboard and apply to Dual Enrollment.
Complete the online dual enrollment funding application, select the accurate schools and school year for funding.
Your parent or guardian must electronically complete the Parent Participation Agreement section.
Provide your parent/guardian's email so they can receive an email to complete the online agreement.

Your eligible participating high school counselor must approve your Dual Enrollment coursesand funding application.
You must be accepted by the collegeand they must approveyour courses and funding application.
Register for the following classes you wish to take at your college.
Visit your counselor and request for your classes to be added to your SWD Schedule.
