Mr. Cordy

Mr. Cordy is a native Georgian and Atlantan. Rare, right? He attended Atlanta Public Schools from K-12.  Mr. Cordy has taught for 13 years, with five of those years being at MES.  He loves technology, math, and science but tech is his heart.  Mr. Cordy attended Georgia State University, where he earned a B.S.Ed. with a Math and Gifted Endorsement and two master's degrees in Instructional Technology and General Management of Information Systems and Technology.  When not learning about a new device or tinkering with different machines, including drones, Mr. C loves to spend time with his family, including two fur babies, weightlifting, being a superhero aficionado, and reading. 

Mrs. DeYonker

Mrs. DeYonker is a native Atlantan, and she attended DeKalb County Schools from 1st through 12th grades.  This is her 14th year teaching in DeKalb County.  She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, and she has also earned a Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy, as well as Gifted, Math, and ESOL certifications. Mrs. DeYonker has taught third grade at Montgomery since 2013.  She lives in Brookhaven with her husband and three sons.

Ms. Pitts

Ms. Pitts hails from Auburn, AL. She earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University in Normal (Huntsville), Alabama, and taught Space History – past, present, and future – at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville before moving to Georgia almost 24 years ago.

In 2007, Ms. Pitts completed her Master's degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University, and later obtained her Specialist degree in Technology in Education from the same institution in May 2010. She also obtained her Gifted Teacher Certification in 2011.

Ms. Pitts has been fortunate to work with several organizations in Georgia, including Lockheed Martin, where she served as the Lead Teacher for Aviation Camp. At the DeKalb County School System, she was a District Science Trainer, chaired the Fourth Grade at Canby Lane Elementary for three years, and taught 3rd grade at Montgomery Elementary for seven years. After that, she served as the Innovation Lab teacher at Montgomery, where she led the technology lab for approximately seven years.

Mrs. St. Hill-
Des Anges

Mrs. St. Hill-Des Anges (sounds like ‘dayz anj’), was born and raised in Trinidad; part of the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She graduated from St. Leo University in Florida, with a BA in International Studies, and a double minor in Political Science and Hospitality and Tourism. She went on to complete her Master of Arts in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from Mercer University, right here in Georgia. When she’s not busy teaching, she can be found on the tennis court with her husband, Jervais. She has a stepdaughter, Chase, and a very friendly dog, Zeus. She loves to sing, swim, play tennis, paint, travel and watch movies. 

Ms. Wootten

Ms. Wootten is originally from Pensacola, Florida, and she has lived in Atlanta since 1995, when she first came to work as a teacher with DeKalb County Schools. This is her 27th year of teaching and her 15th year at Montgomery Elementary.  She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy,  Specialist Degree in Educational Technology, as well as Gifted and  Teacher Support Specialist endorsements. 

She lives with her husband and fur baby, Havana-Grace . She has one son, who also attended Montgomery, and is now serving in the US Navy in San Diego, California.
